About

Yilan Sanqing Temple overlooks the picturesque Meihua Lake. While named after the Three Pure Ones, it is most famous for Ji Gong (the Mad Monk). The mountain-side temple offers stunning lake views and is a popular destination combining tourism and spiritual practice in Yilan.

History

Founded in the 1970s by devotees who chose the auspicious lakeside location. Its excellent feng shui and Ji Gong's reputation for answering prayers attracted many worshippers. The surrounding area developed into a complete tourism zone, with Meihua Lake cycling path becoming a popular Yilan attraction.
