Hualien Gang Tian Temple is the largest Mazu temple in Eastern Taiwan. Dedicated to 'Gang Tian Ma', it serves as a major spiritual center for Hualien City. The temple features grand architecture blending Northern and Southern styles, with an impressive pai-lou (archway) and a vast plaza. It hosts massive celebrations during Mazu's birthday.
History
Tracing its roots to the Qing Dynasty as a simple shrine. The current massive temple complex started construction in 1977 and has since become a landmark of Hualien.
