Legend & Origin
Legend says when the Earth God was sent to earth, he wanted everyone to be rich. Tudipo objected: 'If everyone is rich, who will carry the sedan chairs?' Thus, she ensured the balance of rich and poor, emphasizing the need for labor.

Earth God's Wife
Tudipo is the wife of the Earth God. Unlike her generous husband, legends say she is pragmatic and advises him not to give wealth too freely, lest people become lazy. While some avoid worshipping her for this reason, she actually teaches the value of hard work and protects family harmony.

Tudipo is worshipped alongside the Earth God (Tudigong), usually seated beside him in temple shrines. Offerings are the same as for Tudigong — fruits, rice cakes, and tea. While not as widely worshipped as her husband, she represents the practical, grounded side of divine blessing. Some devotees specifically pray to Tudipo for family harmony and for guidance on financial responsibility, reflecting her legendary role as the voice of moderation.
Tudipo shares her celebration with the Earth God on the 2nd day of the 2nd lunar month (birthday) and the 15th day of the 8th lunar month (achieving godhood anniversary). During these events, temple processions and community feasts honor both deities. In some regions, there is a folk custom of "thanking the Earth God couple" at the end of the harvest season, where farmers express gratitude for the land's bounty.
