
Qingshan King Festival
The Qingshan King Festival is organized by Qingshan Temple in Wanhua, Taipei, and is held annually from the 20th to the 22nd day of the 10th lunar month. The highlight is the night procession, with palanquins, parade troupes, folk performance groups, and Bajiajiang (Eight Generals) marching through the streets to ward off evil and protect the community. The event is lively and attracts many devotees and photographers. The Qingshan King faith originated from Fujian and symbolizes exorcism and protection. It is the most representative night-time religious festival in northern Taiwan.
